I have never been a fan of regifting.  Wait, is it regifting or re-gifting?  I could google or spell check it, but that is not going to happen.

It's not that I am opposed to the practice, it just seems that most of the gifts I receive are suggested by me.  Every once in a while, I get an amazing surprise gift (like the gift I received from Big Mike and Steve from Mindframe earlier this year or Cubs tickets for their blizzard game in Milwaukee this past April).  That last one turned out to be a memorable and fun event...even though, we had to tailgate in our winter gear (with a deer blind for protection at Miller Park).

However, this year, I may have set a regifting (re-gifting, lol) record.  I got home last night to find a package on my doorstep.  I figured the gifts that I knew where inside where wrapped per usual.  So, I opened the box to find some wrapped and some not.  One of the unwrapped gifts was too good to be true.  It didn't really make sense for me, but I immediately (yeah, I had to spell check that one...I still refuse to spell check the other word) thought of someone that would get a kick out of this goofy novelty item.

So, I regifted it to a friend.  Yes, an entire week before I was suppose to receive this item on Christmas Day.  I don't take pride in regifting, but I do take pride in making someone else feel good, even if it was for just a few moments.  After all, isn't that the true nature of the Holidays?  Ok, I have to be honest, I didn't do in the spirit of the Holiday, I did it because I thought it would be fun...and I was correct, it was hilarious.

I also take pride in possibly (I haven't checked with Guinness) setting a regifting record...usually you regift after the Holidays, right?  I just gave myself a seven day headstart on my first regifting, ever (that I can remember).

Now, as I try to get a grip on my holiday gift list, I wonder...how many of my items will be regifted?
